Rise early for a 6:30 AM game drive on the Kasenyi plains and Mweya peninsula, the best time to spot lions still active from the night before, large elephant herds gathering at watering points and hundreds of Uganda kob grazing across the open grassland. Buffalo, waterbuck, warthog and numerous raptors complete the scene. Return to the lodge by mid‑morning for a hot breakfast and rest. In the afternoon, around 2:00 PM, you board a boat at the Kazinga Channel launch site for a 2‑hour cruise along the 36‑kilometre channel connecting Lakes George and Edward. The Kazinga Channel holds the highest concentration of hippos in the world, and the experience of gliding within metres of enormous hippo pods, watching crocodiles bask on the banks and elephants drink at the water's edge is unlike anything a land‑based game drive can offer. Your guide identifies the bird species overhead — fish eagles, kingfishers, skimmers, pelicans and herons among them. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. After an early breakfast you have two options depending on your energy and interests. You can join a guided morning game drive to catch the Kasenyi plains in the soft light one final time, or take a guided nature walk near the lodge to look for mongoose, birds and smaller mammals on foot.

An optional visit to Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee tracking walk is available at an additional cost if booked in advance (approx. $50–$60 per person, subject to availability). By late morning you begin the drive back to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way, and arriving in the city in the early evening.
